Your wedding stationery is the first glimpse into your wedding day; a teaser of what your guests can expect. It tells a story and builds a doorway into your world. The symbols, themes and language you use are all important tools in creating a mood for your wedding and where you can really let your ideas run wild.

Sam of Prim & Glad is a master at teasing out those ideas and creating unique designs perfect to WOW your guests and we adore this incredibly talented soul. Not only will Sam be showcasing her wedding stationery with us at the TilDeath - Gothic Luxe Wedding Fair in January, but she will have a whole collection of greeting cards and prints ready to gift and adorn your home.

So lets learn more about Prim & Glad

I am an alternative, themed and bespoke wedding stationery specialist. I champion having the wedding you want, the way you want it; be that pretty florals or a totally bespoke and crazy design - then I say go for it! The best part of wedding stationery is that you can have a bit of fun with it, have whatever you want.

I take my inspiration from my clients mostly, if they want space dinosaurs they shall have!

How did you get into this?

I started many years ago when an old colleagues boss asked me to make their wedding invitations, They were very cream and traditional with eyelets and gems. I was happy to create them but they weren’t really to my taste and I thought there must be people out there who wanted something different! Fast forward a few years and I stumbled upon digital scrapbooking which was my gateway drug into the world of graphics. I spent a long time learning how to create digital designs. I look back now at my early work and can see how far I’ve come. I’m really proud to be able to offer pretty much anything to my clients now!

What’s the process of working with you?

The easiest way is to either email me with your requirements or to take a look at my website. You’ll find detailed information about my house designs and my bespoke design service. There is a contact form on my website; fill that in with your info and I’ll be in touch to start your wedding stationery journey.

How soon do people need to book you?

I normally work a year or 2 ahead as it’s best to start the design process as soon as you have an idea of your colours or theme. Typically I find clients get in touch once they have a date and venue booked as that sets the tone of the day.

What piece of advice would you give?

Always stay true to who you are as a couple. Great aunt Maude might not like it if you have skulls on your invites, but it’s really not her wedding! Also, remember that if you have 100 guests you don’t need 100 invites as most people will be in couples or families… this happens often and I always check quantities before clients order!

What’s your proudest achievement?

I was very proud this last year to take on my own business premises. It’s been a hard slog and there’s still a long way to go, but I exhibit at some amazing shows, regularly get featured in various magazines and have some pretty awesome contacts/wedding besties who I consider very close friends.
